So..you contact the owner which will welcome you in his antique store (this is the reason of the name) and he will give you the keys of your room which can be in different streets, in any case near the shop and in a good location to discover Amsterdam.
In my room the peculiar thing was that the bathroom didnt have the door in order to make the person who was in the bed seeing the person who was having the shower...to inspire "true love" we can say! We talked about it to the owner, because we, naive minds :), found it rare and he laughed at us and said "you guys from south europe! so traditionalist! you must learn from us"...and we laughed all together... Anyaway, the location is very good, the room clean, Mr. True Love is very funny and you have a little boiler to make coffee and tea. And the bathroom...did I tell you about the bathroom?!!! ;) totally recommended :) |

Charm Guest House Feb 23, 2009
This is a good choice to spend some days in Amsterdam if you’re not quite fond of hotels and prefer to merge in the city. In this guest-house you get a key for one of the rooms in the historical (and less touristic) part of the city, so you have a quite independent stay. In Amsterdam you can reach almost everywhere on foot, so no problem at all!
The hosts are truly friendly, providing you all the information you need to get around, tailor-made suggestions of places to visit, to eat, to make shopping, etc, and also some warnings concerning the usual tourist traps. Our room had a lovely decor and it was very comfortable! Truly recommend this place. Part of the Short escape to Netherlands travel blog |
