Moved to Koh Phi Phi
After chilling out on the beach on Koh Lanta I decided I should head towards Puket and land on Koh Phi Phi. On Koh Lanta I was surrounded by couples and families and the Thai people just couldn't understand why I was on my own, when I was leaving they handed me a leaflet and said "maybe next time you can bring your family?".
Koh Lanta was quite good, nice beach, quite quiet but it never really felt like an island. This is probably because its so near to the coast and is a pretty large island in itself.
After a short boat ride I reached Koh Phi Phi, I soon realised just how expensive it was. My room costing double what it has elsewhere. There are also plenty of posh resort type places on the island. By early evening most accommodation in the area was fully booked so I guess I was lucky to get a room.
Apparently its usually like this and since the tsunami theres a severe lack of accommodation.I spent all day on the beach trying to get some sort of a tan, I think I may just have got it but since I was so pale to begin with it's very hard to tell! After relaxing all day I went for a wander around the port area of the island, as I turned a corner I was almost trampled into the ground by a huge group of wealthy holiday makers rolling their luggage on wheels!
To be honest Phi Phi is a beautiful island, quite expensive though and also very popular. This means the main beaches are pretty busy most of the time, but the island has a great vibe, some nice restaurants and bars but it hardly feels Thai.
