Heading to the beach
I caught the 11 o'clock bus to Trat on the East coast of Thailand, of course the bus broke down on the way out of Bangkok but after Laos I'm kind of getting used to it. I finally arrived six hours later and jumped aboard a tuk tuk for the ferry terminal to Ko Chang.
By the time the ferry left it was dark and raining, after an hour we docked on Ko Chang. At this point I had no idea where I was staying or where I was going I was just going with the flow, which seems to be a good way of traveling. The tuk tuk was pretty much full so myself and a couple of others had to make do with standing up on the back of the vehicle as it sped round the island.
I eventually found a guest house within my budget, amongst the large posh newly developed hotels on this part of the island. After a few days I was intending to head south away for the holiday type resort for a more secluded area of the island. I checked in and ordered a beer and some Thai food whilst the waves crashed onto the beach outside and the rain poured down. I opted for an early night hoping the next day would bring the sunshine.
