The Day Has Come, I'm On My Way
I was shocked by the heat, humidity and general sweatiness...
...that's right... sat in Terminal 4 at London Heathrow awaiting my connecting flight to Beijing.
I'm sat eating a chicken, bacon and mustard wedge and drinking a coffee from the Coffee Republic with my rucksack sat on a trolley. Passing through the security at Manchester Airport was both interesting and amusing. My rucksack was towering over most of the other people's luggage as it passed through the x-ray machine, yet at the other end while a queue of people emptied the contents of their cases out for public display, I waltzed through unscathed! I was slightly surprised and relieved that my undies weren't on public exhibition!
My 38l +8l rucksack had been the star of the show, breezing onto the flight as hand luggage. There was non of the traditional waiting around for hours watching the single neglected, battered and lonely suitcase drifting around and around, disappearing and reappearing through the plastic flaps for the hundredth time.
The Manchester to London flight was uneventful and on time, leaving hours to kill in Heathrow before the long haul to Beijing.
