Crossing the border

I was attempting to get up at 5:45 in the morning in order to get across the border to catch a ferry to Sihanoukville a beach town in Cambodia. When I woke I could hear the down pour outside along with a bit of thunder and lightening and thought it was best to stay in bed. When I eventually sorted myself out I caught a motorbike taxi to the bus station. It was quite amusing making my debut on a motorbike taxi with my rucksack on my back (something I'd have to get used to in Cambodia), running over pot holes and puddles in the rain. I eventually made it to the border after sitting in a mini bus for an hour from Trat, but I had already missed the boat to Sihanoukvile so had to find somewhere to stay in Koh Kong. Having no idea where to stay I had a tip off from a middle aged western chap at this point I should have known it'd be slightly seedy! I booked into the guest house anyway as it was only for one night. I opted for a night in flicking between two premier league football games (spurs vs everton and manchester united vs watford) rather than taking up the motor taxi's generous offer of bringing me a young lady for the night!
