Day 16
Spending
quality time with our friend while her broods went to Vacation Bible
School, it was a nice break from the road, having the world fly past
your eyes.
After picking up her broods from the VBS, our friend thought we would
be interested in checking out the quaint, little antique (historic)
town of Snohomish (interesting name, isn't it?). Before creeping into
the lil downtown, Bart and Alynn witnessed an eye-popping,
jaws-dropping moment. While the front passengers chatted away, Bart
and Alynn were observing the world outside. Before our eyes, an
accident occurred. I kid you not!! A small 80's red sports car failed
to yield to the black Nissan SUV for the Nissan had the right of way
and tried to swerve to avoid hitting the Nissan. It succeeded in
avoiding the Nissan but failed to avoid the ditch on the opposite
side of the road, soared into the air while creating waves of mud and
rolled over, landing on its roof. The passengers and driver of the
Nissan was unharmed. It is believed that there were two people in the
sports car and it appeared as if one got out with no obvious
injuries. Among many others, the scene were watched as the rescuers
did their job. Luckily, a fire station was nearby, only around the
corner! It was as if a movie was played live before our eyes! Bart,
who is only 9 yrs old, was in awe and filled with wonder!
To put this behind us, Snohomish was visited by our perky group and
dinner for the broods was picked up. We returned home and come
evening, old friends in the area from our college years came over.
Oh, how nostalgic moments we had, recounting the stories, laughing
about our days of experiences. It was great spending moments with
Michael and Nancy Bloomfield! As time goes by, more of our peers are
settled with careers, marriage, and/or children. Alynn and BS are a
rare breed, living in the life of singlehood!
