Showing Rhodri around the country I'm starting to thing of as home we've been here so long, we revisited the Buddha Tooth Relic Chamber Temple (and I've included a slightly better photo of it), but unfortunately this time we just missed the viewing times for the actual tooth relic. Ah well, Rhodri misses out on looking at a marble through a pain of glass! We have now just taken a wander through Little India and I revisited Arab Street and the Sultan Mosque in Kampong Glam, which the other two had yet to see.
A wander through the Arabian streets out back saw us sampling all of the musical instruments the various shops had to offer, including the "bean" - a much fabled instrument that is very hard to get a sound out of. This is a good thing as, once accomplished, sounds, well, aweful. But very fulfilling :-). A drink at the "Blue Jazz followed where a hideous green hand-chair was a main feature - psychedelic, but uncomfortable.
This evening, being our last night, we are going for (hopefully!) a Singapore Gin Sling at the famous Raffles Hotel (that amusingly enough is just down the road from our cheap little hostel). Forewarned from last time I was here, we know sandels and shorts are absolutely forbidden so a quick change will be in order. Hopefully we'll be able to afford it...
