The market in the background

Nainital is a hill station in the state of Uttarkhand north of Delhi.Named after a hindu godess whose eyes fell upon the earth and transformed into a lake..it is called(Naini)eyes and (Tal)lake. Iwas fascinated at the naturally bountiful forest among high hills on the edge of the Himalayas in the Kumaoan range it is 1938 mts above sea level. The temperature during day was around 15c and the night bacame chill around 3c. They said it would snow that night and I tried staying awake to get out in the snow when it happens, but oops I fell asleep and woke up to know that it did not snow that night. The town of Nainital was founded by the British in the begening of the 18th century and is still in shape maybe except for some modern constructions. However the town retains the aesthetic look and is beautiful and clean.

Surprisingly very clean for a market in India
The lake, boating, narrow roads, richshaws, ponies, cable car, market, churches, temples, mosque and ethenic handicrafts will charm any person to stay back longer than intended. The people were friendly and never bother you or look at you in amazement or as a foriegner.Proper care should be taken to wear warm clothes and find a proper homestay. The town is filled with hotels and shops and a quite search could yield good results. Clothing is cheap and of good quality. Bargain is the word. The shopkeepers are soft spoken non agressive and polite. The neighbouring hills offer a variety of views and places for quite sight seeing.Dotted with ancient small temples it also has the first Methodist church in India and also a Anglican Church built by the British during 1840 or thereabouts. It also has a zoo, eco park, a beautiful but run down Anglican church and The High court of the state. A cable car takes you from just above the lake to the himalayan mountain view and it is worth the trip. This place is not crowded during winter but the summer rush is said to be maddening as it is a highly rated hill station in India and also an Indian wonderland. You will find a lot of newly wed honeymooners and even we oldies will be enchanted by this charming town into a honeymoon holiday in this evergreen honeymoon hill station.
