A relaxing day: Golden to Boulder
May 20, 2007
We spent the morning lounging around Rissa's house, making scrambled eggs and doing laundrey. We cut Matt's hair which was a lot of fun. Then Rissa took us for a drive and showed us her hometown of Golden (home of Coors beer). Golden is a cute little western town and I can see why she loves it. She showed us Lookout Mountain and we got a great view of Golden and Denver. Then in the late afternoon we took the short drive to our friend Annalise's house in Boulder. Her house is amazing, completely built by hand by her parents. Annalise and some of her friends took us to Chataqua Park near flatirons. We played football and frisbee and hung out. We went out to dinner on Pearl St. in Boulder and had burritos at a place called Illegal Pete's, "like Chipotle but not". Oh, like Freebird's? It was GREAT having burritos after going so long without any type of Mexican food. We got rootbeer floats and the guys smoked in the "island" in the middle of Annalise's street. We stayed up late talking and then went to bed in her sister's room, who is currently in Jordan. I slowly but surely felt myself falling in love with Colorado.
