Clovis has a line of shops named after him

Today I woke up later than I expected to because I really didn't get much sleep the two nights previous, night one was my bus trip from Curitiba which left at 11:45pm and arrived in SP at about 6:30 in the morning, then I had a couple of hours sleep at the hostel before I went sight seeing with my friend. Night two was in the hostel but I just couldn't settle, I was in a room for 8 people but I was by myself without a lock on the door. There was only one other guy at the hostel and I wasn't worried about him or anything, it was just being alone without a lock in a new city. Not that I felt unsafe, just unsettled.

Anyway, back to today. Clovis was going to take me for a drive out of the city to show me around, but because I didn't show my face till about 10, he and Carlos decided I should do my shopping that I needed to do.

So after my breakfast the guys took me to a shopping street full of womens clothing stores and helped me find what I needed. These guys are so great. Instead of just giving me directions and sending me on my way, which is what I was expecting to happen, they came with me. Not only did they come with me, but they helped me pick things off the racks to try and then give me their opinion on the things I tried on. We walked the whole length of the street and I know where to go back to now when I need things again.

After my shopping spree, we drove over tho Clovis' mum's place and I met his mum and dad, and his youngest sister and her boyfriend. Clovis has a wonderful family and I had a very good opportunity to practice my Portuguese. I noticed today that I understand the São Paulo accent much easier than I understand the Porto Alegre one. I really don't know what it is about their accent that is easier for me to understand. I think it may have something to do with it being such a cosmopolitan city and having such a wonderful mix of people from all corners of Brazil as well as all corners of the globe. Porto Alegre is not as mixed.
