We came into Nice last night on the TGV and whilst the trip wasn't as good as the first leg of the journey; no power on the train so no Command and Conquer :) We made it with little issue, the weather was very hot and we arrived at ~7PM. Walking down to the beach we found our hotel (Westminster Concorde) and plenty of restaurants that were still open; I'm loving the late night dining in Europe :) Had some dinner and a nice walk around the town, despite the hour (11PM) the town was still very busy. Took a few photos of the hotel and the town.
The next morning we were going to head up to Monaco, but as the weather was so good (mid 30s) we decided to walk across the road to the beach (we were literally staying on the beach).
After a swim, and a bruising of the feet, retired to the towel and read the book. Went back in the water only to be stung by a jellyfish (it obviously spotted the tourist) and this time with even less grace (thanks to the stinging across my chest and arm from said jellyfish) exited the water and retired to the towel to once again read. Now, travel tip to those that may not be aware (hopefully not that many of you) when reading on towel at the beach, it may be a good idea to rotate yourself so that you can receive an even allocation of sun - not just on the 1 side, in this case the back - yup that's right, I could start to feel myself burning (too late!) so we decided to retire for some lunch, walking into the hotel I could already see that I was red... quite red... Kath actually said you are really going to hurt from this one.... how bad could it be I thought..... well, I struggled with my backpack the next day .. let's leave it at that ... when will I learn *sigh*
