Brazil is soo big! It took us 20 hrs to get to Parati and three diiferent buses. We eventually arrived at 4am to this very small town (17,000 people). Its not nice arriving in the dark, but we had braved the telephone and called ahead to see what was open so there were no problems. Our most important task for the day was to find someone to let us watch Australia vs Croatia, as it was a clash with Brazil! We thought we would have to pay someone who had canle tv to let us use theres ut luckily the hostel had a few teles and they let us take over  one of them – go aussie!! What a match, very exciting. We didn’t even need to worry about watching the brazilian game because firecracked went off all over town every time there was a goal! (this happens every match here in brazil). The highlight of our stay in parati was a day long boat trip out to the islands. Swimming snorkeling clear water.. fantastic.
