BEST MONK FISH I EVER HAD
I read sybil's review and i have always wanted to eat here. i asked my foodies mum, cousin, john and his gf, ashley to eat here. they when here for lunch at month. they enjoy it. they wanted to bring me this time for dinner.
for the appetizers we all shared 2:
baby beets, hazelnuts, mache house made ricotta
OMG this was amazing. all the flavors mixed well together in my mouth. the ricotta was smooth as silk. it was my favorite
beef tartare bacon sabayon, chives, arugula
WOW this was great. one of the best tartare
on with the entres, i ordered the monkfish "francaise", spinach, white wine, potato puree, and shallots UNBELIEVABLE one of the best. it was moist. this is called a poor man's lobster. tastes exactly like it.
my mum ordered the sea bass with mussels, clams, saffron. chorizo, sunchoke puree SHE WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH IT. IT WAS DRY. SHE DIDN'T OFFER TO LET US TASTE IT.
when the waiter asked her how she liked, my mum told the truth. the waiter did not offer to have it cook another one or order something else. however, my mum should have said something as well.
ashley orderd the branzino en papillote with roasted peppers, black olive, red onion, fennel, lemoncello WOW when the wait opened the bag that was steamed in. the smell of it was wonderful. she enjoy it very much. the fish was moist and the veggies blended well with the fish.
john ordered the steak frites, seared flat iron steak with hand cut fries, compound butter. BEAUTIFUL PRESENTATION. the steak was cooked perfectly. melted in your mouth. he liked it very much.
we all shared 2 desserts:
ricotta fritters, fresh market strawberries aged balsamic reduction
WOW IT WAS YUMMY. NOT TOO SWEET
chocolate whiskey cake with pineapple and stracciatella ice cream
OMG THIS WAS INTERESTING. CHOCOLATE AND WHISKEY ALWAYS GOES WELL TOGETHER. END OF STORY :)
i recommend it and order the monkfish and baby beets salad.
