The End of an Era
August 2, 2007
And so, I came upon the final week of my program and, therefore, my time in Scotland. I had found a home there and I was truly sad to leave it. So, like good American students, I and my fellow classmates engaged in some end-of-the-era fun, of the extremely inebriated sort. =) I can't tell you what I learned the last week of school mostly because I was either still drunk or too hungover to remember a thing. But it was worth it.
Best of all, to truly end with a bang, the Military Tattoo Preview was the Thursday of our last day of class, and it was simply AMAZING. The bagpipes, the performers, the dancing, the simple Scottish pride was invigorating. And everything was just so pretty. I left Edinburgh Castle, the backdrop to the wonderful ceremony, on a high and ready to dance the night away.
And that's exactly what we did. The dance floor was horded by 30 Americans, having the time of their lives.

American Revolutionary music in ...
Liquid Room
I don't know if I loved it because it became a hot spot for our group or if it became a hot spot because we loved it. It's pretty standard as far as clubs go, with a 1 GBP cover charge. But they play good music and the creepy-guy-to-young-girl ratio isn't nearly as high as it is in other clubs. Also, I think Thursdays are 2 GBP drink nights, which isn't half bad for the UK. =)
I never really learned street names but it's on the same street that I guess could be called the Club District in Old Town. It's pretty close to the Law School.
