Day two of the tour, along with a refreshing and necessary change of tour guide. Our previous one, to the happiness of all, was remanded to driving duty for the day.
Visited Elean Donan Castle. The castle was destroyed in a battle a while back but eventually restored thanks to the money of the Gilstraps. Coincidentally, we had a Gilstrap in our group, although he isn't quite sure these people are his ancestors. I think we could've gotten a free night in the castle if we pushed hard enough. =D
Made our way to the Isle of Skye, which is as magical as its name makes it sound. Saw Faerie Falls, where you drank the water and made a wish. Found meadows which appeared safely flat but, as we quickly found out, were not at all. Went to another place where if you dipped your face in the stream, you were supposed to become and remain beautiful forever. Heard wonderful tales of five sisters being turned into mountains, of faeries hating sadness, and of a reason not to trust the Irish (has to do with the five sisters being turned into mountains).
