A chronicle of living in Thailand for 3 years. I was based in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai, but tried to travel around the country as much as possible. Reviews of things to do, places to eat, places to go and different experiences.
This is a cool little restaurant bar off the beaten path in the Nimmenhaminda area. It features a garden setting, complete with fish pond and water wheel. There's also a huge mural sort of thing going on on the back wall (used to be covered in egg crates). The funky decor makes this a popular spot with university students. The food is good, though prices have recently been marginally raised (still within reason).
This is also one of the few places in town that usually has good music playing, whether it's a live duet doing acoustic versions of random songs or the DJ choosing the music. Definitely worth it if you're looking for a funky little spot for late night eats and drinks. It can get pretty packed on most weekends, so arrive before 10 if you want to get a good table.
Note - You're welcome to bring your own bottle of spirits, but they do charge 100 baht corkage fee. Though we've found they adapt that depending on how full the bottle is (so 60 baht if it's between half and three quarters full, etc.).
