Pelicans are the official mascots of Mykonos
We started out today with breakfast at a place called Apollino by the old Mikonos harbor, that was a huge mistake. The food was terrible the price was incredible high, and we met the world’s rudest nastiest waiter, it was evident that he did not want to be there. This was the first time in our life we did not tip after a meal. But the day got better we took a boat to Delos. According to myth this is the birthplace of the gods Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. A very interesting island the place is uninhabited and has no fresh water at all now, but two thousand years ago it was a center of commerce in the Mediterranean. We saw the remains of temples dating back 3,000 years and the ruins of a Roman neighborhood with shops and very nicely decorated houses from 200 BC. Today was windy and the sea was very rough so on the 30 minute ride back the boat really rocked. After a nice lunch in Mikonos town we came back to the hotel and relaxed by the pool. All in all it was a very nice day.
