The village of Maratea

Yesterday, we left Rome for Maratea, by train for the 1st of our 5 timeshares.

The four and a half hour train ride was very scenic but uneventfulHowever the Italian train did not measure up to the high standard that we come to expect from European transit, it did not have a dinning car and the bathrooms were filthy.  We already miss having someone else schlepping our luggage, that tour really spoiled us.  The timeshare sits halfway up a mountain, with the Mediterranean Sea below us, and an abandoned village with a huge Jesus above us.  The place is very large; one bedroom unit is not too bad.  This is the first time in 60 day we are living in more then one room. Today we are going to take the shuttle and go see what the city of Maratea is about.  The shuttle only takes people down the mountain to the beach, so we took a taxi into town.  Today being Sunday most places were closed.  We did have a very good lunch.  We walked around until the taxi was picking us up at 5pm.

Not much else for the rest of the day, we got some well deserved rest.

We are not able to get on line up on the mountain, we have to find a place in town, so far no luck.  We might not be bloging as often as we have been.
