Darcy in front of a mock up of the old check point charley

We arrived in Berlin after a very comfortable train ride.  Traveling by train in Europe is the  way to go  you  relax in very comfortable seats, eat and drink what you like   and look at the countryside while you zoom by 200 kilometer per hour, next thing you know you are at your destination.  Our hotel room is by far the biggest one we had on this whole trip it’s as big as an American hotel room.  We visited the old check point charley, this use to separate the Russian and the American section during the occupation after world war two.  We saw pieces of the old Berlin wall and went to former communist side; there is a huge difference between the two sides. This city is living proof that communism can not work.   Berlin is a very modern city with a lot of glass buildings 95% has been rebuilt after the last world war, it reminds us of the Brickell road section of Miami.

.   We went to the post office to mail a couple of packages, what a circus that was.

This is the first day of our whole trip that we have encountered language problems, unlike the other cities we visited most Berliners do not speak English.
