Fun in the Sun
We woke up on our own this morning. Hotel’s breakfast was not very appetizing. We took the public bus to Fira, that was an adventure on it’s own the bus was packed with standing room only, just when you think that it was packed to the hilt the bus would stop and somebody else would squeeze in. Fira is the towns that you all seen pictures of, it’s on top of a mountain looking over the sea. With the obligatory winding streets and walks. This was one place that had more Jewelry stores and high end business than the other islands we been to.
We walked around for a while, and marveled at the incredible view below us. Santorini is shaped like a half moon, but about 5,000 years ago it was round with a volcano in the middle, that erupted and sunk leaving a semi circular bay at the bottom of a precipice in its place. After enjoying Fira we decided to go back to our hotel and take advantage of the beach. The sun was very hot but the water was way to cold for us spoiled Floridians.
