Yesterday we enjoyed a very scenic train trip to Prague.  Our travel agent sent someone to pick us up at the station, which is on the outskirts.  Once we entered the old area the traffic was unbelievable, tiny streets very few traffic signals parking on both sides, hardly anyplace to drive.  It took almost an hour to go 2 miles.  After arriving at our hotel and checking in, nice room but no a/c.  (Don’t need it at night).  We had to do some of the mundane everyday things that had been neglected. Got some laundry done, Lou got a haircut, (His Czech haircut doesn’t look bad) and I had a wash and blow out (spoiled).  We were very hungry and broke down and ate at the McDonalds, next door to our Hotel.  Later that evening we found a Cuban restaurant / cigar store, we had diner and drinks and listen to great live music Lou chatted with some of the Cubans there.  Prague is a very crowed and very old city with Beautiful buildings.

We started today by touring the Prague castle and watched the changing of the guard.  After some hit and misses (Mostly misses) on the Prague public transportation, we took a tram to Petrin a scenic over look with a smaller version of the Eiffel tower on top. We made our way up the mountain via a funicular.  After that we walked across the Charles Bridge a local landmark from the 12th century with 32 ornate statutes and huge towers on either side.  We concluded our busy day by taking a two hour cruise on the Vltava River.  As you can imagine we are very tired, but we’ll be ready for more tomorrow.
