First day in Oslo
I decided to get to know my captital better. Ive been living here for 16years , but its so long ago since ive visited all the tourist atractions so why dont use some of the time i have here before leaving for helsinki.
Today i went to Japan Photo and bought Tamron 18-200 and UV filters for 62mm (18-200) and 72mm (10-22) and some microfiber cloth (i forgot my own in Bergen). The new lens is meant as a "travel lens" where you have the zoom area of 28.8 - 360 in one lens. The optical quality isnt great, but it is a compromise. So now i will be bringing 10-22 (extreme vide angle) and 18-200 ("can do everything lens")
I regret that i didnt buy annother memorycard since i only have 2.5gig (1x2gig , 1x512). But if i delete som pictures i hope it will be enough.
To test my new lens (its like getting a new camera) i went to the "Frogner Park with the Vigelandsparken which is only a short walk from the main street in oslo. The new lens proved to be everything i hoped it be , with the flaws i had expected. The build quality was a little disapointing compared to my 10-22 ,but i dont know what you can expect in this pricerange. A good travel lens on my 400D :)
Later we gathered "Oslo Trekkers" to a meeting and just relaxed with something to eat and drink. Watched two episoden , one of TOS and one of TNG. And i fell asleep after a long day.
Monday. The plan is to get an twoday Oslo-pass and go and see all the major atractions like:
Akershus Fortress , Akershus Castle , Norwegian Maritime Museum Oslo , Holocoust Center/Villa Grande, Reptile park, Kon tiki museum and Vikinskip museum.. But more will probably come if i have time.
One of Norway's most visited attractions with more than 1 million visitors every year. Popular recreation area.
The unique sculpture park is the life work of the sculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943) with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron. Vigeland was also responsible for the design and architectural outline of the park. A monumental artistic creation with a human message that is well worth seeing.
The park is open all year at all times.
Verdict:
This is a natural place to go when you are in Oslo. There is alot of people visiting this park ,but its not very crowded (Oslo is a small city). The Main statue monolitten is a symbol of people stepping on other people to get to the top.
PS: Dont miss the statue called "Sinnataggen"
