yep, its a real dog, purple ears, orange tail, common in china!!!

It's been quite a NORMAL week in Nanjing. The same old routine. Waking up at bout 7:00am, the occasional 7:10am, eat my cornflakes (which may i add is very hard to fine here, and they are expensive, like $4 for 375 grams!!) but hey i need some kind of aussie breakfast food. Did you know the only toaster that one of my friends found here costs $40!!- at least it makes a panda print on it, when making her toast!. and then..... off to the bus stop and into the Hospital for another day of grueling hard work!! NOT!!!! The dermatology department isnt as great as the acupuncture department but still its ok. We dont do much at all. It actually gets a little boring. Here's a normal day... (this week we actually have an english translator, her name is Raine, and she helps us translate what the doctor is saying to the patient!), me, adele and Johnny pick a doctor who we want to observe for the day and we just sit in a room and watch that particular doctor go through a consultation with a patient with all different kinds of dermatological conditions.

We dont have any particular job, our 2 weeks in the dermatological department, is purely for eduacational basis and thus help us learn different kinds of herbal formulas that doctors use for different kinds of diseases. This week, I seen patients with Molluscum contagiousum, Tinea Pedis, Tine Unguuim, Pityriasis Rosea and Multicolour, Alopecia, Papular Urticaria, Dermatitis, Melasma, Guttate and Classic Psoriasis to only name a few. BUt the most common dermatological condition: ACNE!!!!! followed by urticaria. OMG!! after the like 100th acne case it gets pretty repetitive and quite boring, but its ok. We are there to learn!!!! Only a week to go and then off to Internal Medicine (Gastro, Respiratory, Rheumatology and maybe other departments!!).

I dont know if i've told you guys already or not but Im currently teaching english to one of the general surgeon's sons twice a week.

in presidential palace, dont worry guys ill write a blog on in one day!!!! soon!!!
It has been quite a challenging experience for me but Im loving it. I teach a fourteen year old boy who's name Im slowly learning!!!! To be honest, I thought it would be quite easy to teach him, the father instructed for me to just talk to him in english, its like a 2hour lesson of english conversation!!! But.... this fourteen year old boy is a genius. He basically can answer back to most questions and his english is probably better than mine!!! So instead of conversation for the whole 2 hours, I decided I would be real harsh on him and teach him hard stuff. Well currently, Im teaching him the anatomy of the arm and leg, since he wants to be a doctor (just like both his mother and father!!) and have taught him to write a personal essay and every lesson I give him about 15 spelling words, and not just any ordinary words, long ones like association and appreciation and hemisphere!!!! Ive decided that im gonna push him to learn as much as possible because he can do it!!! I cant believe how smart he is!!!

After hospital and after teaching english, I slowly get home, and plonk myself on the most confortable couch ( its more comfortable than my bed, seriously!!) and watch tv for a couple of hours and then bed time!!! Sounds exciting????!!?????

This weekend im officially going to Shanghai!!! Hotel's booked and train ticket booked.
