Well, everything has been finalised with my penthouse apartment. Lucky I'm living with an awesome chinise chick, one of my best buddies, Yuan. She was able to to explain every part of the rental contract. I even managed to get a free dvd player and microwave put in our apartment!! SCORE!!! I tried to convince YUan to also tell them to also supply cutlery and dinner plates, but I really was pushing it. You can only try. After all that was finalised, it was time for lunch. We had lunch at some place, which I have no idea what it was called and again had to trust Yuan's choice in food. Three different chinese dishes added up to ONLY 20yuan between us two, that's about $3 for our whole meal!!! I can not believe how cheap the food is here. I dont exactly know how they can survive with so less money.
We live only ten minutes away from Suo Gou, a major supermarket, its like Coles or Safeway but all in chinese! Living without a car, or any kind of transport, I realised how hard it is to bring almost two trolley's full of cleaning products, junkfood and essential items. Yuan and I ended up, paying a deposit on a trolley and squishing all our stuff into one trolley and taking it home!! Ive done it before in Melbourne, but in CHina its a whole new story. The sidewalks arent exactly level, not to mention, there's always a bicycle or even a car on the sidewalk. Dont ask me why, it seems like its legal here, they do it all the time.
The one disadvantage of having a two storey apartment is how much cleaning is required!! OMG!! Even though its a totally new apartment, newly renovated with new everything, everything still needs to be cleaned. By the end of it, I was completely buggered. Now i know how my mum feels. I occasionally do the dishes now and then, vacuum the house and put out the washing at home, but not clean a whole two storey apartment!! Let me tell you it's a work out!!
Well, i promised some photos of this infamous apartment!!! Jealous!!!
