Planting Day at the Great Wall

The company I work for decided, as many other companies do, to celebrate the start of the spring by going to the area of the Great Wall and planting some new trees. So they organized a bus and breakfast and 50 employees signed up and all of us met on saturday morning and start this travel.
The way was quite long due to heavy traffic, but in the end we reached the great wall area in north east Beijing, in a place I don't remember it's name, something like xiauxhing or so (water lake or alike).
When we reached the place we had 2 hours for ourselves before lunch, so me and some guys from my team climbed the great wall, starting with the reconstructed area and finishing in the original wall ruins.
After lunch, in which, as usual, i was remarked about my chopsticks skills by some members of my company, we went and got the plants, shovels and water buckets, and planted some trees in the ground, which used to be a river but it's dried now due to a dam built there. I must confess and say that I'm really skeptic about the chances of those trees to live more than a few months, if not a day till the organizers of this place will pull them out and let the next company plant them.
But all in all I enjoyed the day and it was very unique.
