Willamette Pass - Salt Creek Falls

Willamette Pass Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

A full two weeks to see as much scenery as we can, including gardens, waterfalls, mountains, waterfalls, canyons, waterfalls, flowers, waterfalls, this time in more of the great northwestern part of the U.S. Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, back to Idaho, Nevada and home.

Willamette Pass - Salt Creek Falls

Our last falls of the day was Salt Creek Falls, which is about 22 miles east of Oakridge.  This one is really easy to get to, and nearly no hiking involved at all.  The large parking lot is within fifty yards of the falls.  There are several viewing points but they are all pretty much above the falls.  This one is 286 feet of plunge and is 60 feet wide.  I took lots of shots here because it has got to end up one of the very best of the trip.

Done for the day we headed on to Oakridge, Oregon for the night and a stay again at a Best Western.

Located 23 miles east of the small community of Oakridge at the 4,000 foot level in southern Oregon this magnificent waterfall is the second largest falls in Oregon. This is one of the most spectacular falls in the western parts of the United States. The fall is a 286 foot plunge and is 60 feet wide. From Highway 58 it is a very short exit to the parking lot. Access is possible year round, though in the winter, the parking lot may not be plowed (Highway 58 is), so it should be possible to see the falls no matter the conditions.
