Golden Gate Bridge

We seemed to be driving west and north as they went east and south. Yippee

One of these days I will get a shot of the bridge without the fog covering the top. I swear I will. :)

After leaving Hakone Gardens we headed on north to the Golden Gate Bridge.  We arrived there at nearly 2p.m.  The rain that we experienced in Saratoga was gone and now only a few clouds floated by.  We got pictures of a few pretty ones to out west.  As we neared the bridge it looked like the tops of the towers were clear, but fog was down near the deck of the bridge.  As we drove closer and down to where the Fort Point sits we could see the fog thinning out.  We got lots of great shots with some fog at the opposite side and some clear.  Also, we noted that several dolphins were playing not too far off our viewing area.  I tried to get a couple of shots of them, with only limited success.

While we were there we also got a couple of shots of Alcatraz Island and the skyline of San Francisco.

On the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge is another Vista Point.  We stopped and got a few more shots there too.  It was so nice to finally get nice pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge after all these years.

Some nice shots of the bridge shrouded in fog, but not so much as to obscure it! I was hoping for pics like that, but it was perfectly clear when we went
