First big snow.

We finally got the first big snow of the year on New Year's Eve. Big, beautiful fluffy flakes came swirling out of the sky and transformed the dull wintry colors into a winter wonderland- finally!  It's been so cold here and we haven't had any snow until now.  After work we quickly got changed and walked to Ashlee's apartment for the New Year's bash she and Meena were hosting.  We arrived to find Meena, Bobby and Ashlee sipping martinis and settin out the snacks.  It was a fantastic spread- homemade pizza, sushi, taco dip, a veggie try and chocolate fondue. "Dirty Bobby" was in charge of making dirty martinis.  Just before midnight 6 more guests arrived.  They had waited outside for an hour trying to hail a cab.  It seems that most of the cabs in the city were downtown.  Many people in Gwangju gather near the democracy bell for a concert before the bell is rung at midnight.

Within minutes of the other guests' arrival we had a champagne toast and set off roman candles from the balcony.  The neighbors probably thought we were all crazy but we had fun.  Justin and I trudged back home through the snow by 2am. Thankfully we didn't have to work the next day.
