We weren't expecting much of a Thanksgiving this year since we're so far from our families. However, a group of our friends (Canadians and Americans alike) decided to get together for a family style Thanksgiving complete with a turkey. Granted, we had to have our turkey shipped from North America to Korea but there's no way we could forgo the staple food of the Thanksgiving meal. We went to our friend Jim's apartment and had what actually turned out to be one of the best Thanksgivings I've ever had. The meal was a potluck so everyone did their best to bring an appropriate dish. By the time we sat down to feast the table was covered with rolls, mashed potatos, broccoli, sweet potatoes, stuffing, dressing, cranberry sauce and several plates of turkey. I couldn't believe the spread! For dessert we had chocolate barek, apple strudel, and pumpkin pie (that we accidentally set the blender on so it was a little misshapen but still tasty). Afterwards we progressed downstairs to Bobby and Meena's apartment for coffee, chai tea, and a rousing game of Taboo. All in all it was a fantastic holiday. We honestly couldn't have asked for better.
