I don't think I realized how far it was to get here! I got up at 4am a few days ago to get here to be ready for my taxi at 5am. One of the first things the driver said when he picked us up was that he hadn't slept in two days. I guess that explains why he got lost twice on the way. After that it was a 1 hour flight from Detroit to Chicago, a 5 hour layover in Chicago followed my a 13 hour flight in Tokyo. I was there for a another 3 hours before my 6 hour flight to Bangkok. That is 20 hours of flying plus layovers. For some reason I felt pretty good on the flights. I watched two movies, read my first Harry Potter book and three newspapers. Suprisingly I only slept about 2 hours on all the flights and even had a little trouble getting to sleep after I got into Bangkok at 11:30pm at night.
There are four of us here now while about 5 others on the trip will arrive today. This morning I walked around town a bit on my own and then went to tailor with the others. I unfortunately paid $60 to get a shirt tailored, before going to a few other places who offered it at half the price. I will pick it up tomorrow and see how it looks, but will probably go to the cheaper places if I want another one. I had already paid when I saw the owner's lamborghini in the back of the lot and knew that I probably paid too much.
oh well... this afternoon off to some temples and palaces and hopefully I will get some better pictures for you.
