BEST EEL TEMPURA ROLL
After melissa(melissa919) picked me up at the airport, we were hungry. she took me to this authentic japanese restaurant. i have never been here before. i go to tea planet which below it on the first floor. melissa has been here for lunch. this is her first time eating here for dinner.
i was looking forward to it. i wanted to try something new. as soon as i walked in. i felt like i was in japan. even though i never been to japan. iit has a the ambiance of it when i see photos on TB. i know that sounds weird :P
this sushi bar it known for the sake bar, side dishes and skewers. i did not take photos of the beef tongue and beef liver skewers or melissa's tofu and tuna salad...too effing hungry :P
we asked our waitress, naomi the house specials. there are different signs all over the restaurant. melissa and i were overwhelmed. we wanted to order everything. 2 dishes caught my eye:
eel tempura roll - WHICH IS THE BEST. IT IS MY NEW FAVORRITE ROLL. VERY CRUNCHY WITH THE SPICY TUNA. YUMMY!!!!
calamari with garlic and butter - OMG this is so yummy with white rice. i am so proud of melissa, she ate it without the batter. i ate all the tenticles of course. she is not ready for that HAHAHA.
melissa ordered the yellow tail mixed with avocado with spicy tuna and tortilla chips.
tofu with spicy tuna with ginger vinaigrette - this was very good. not that spicy and tofu was creamy.
of oourse the did my "yellow tail" test and it PASTED!!! we both shared a spider roll. it was smaller than i have ever eaten.
i would come back here. the house and daily specials are always different. thanks melissa for dragging me here HAHAHAHA
