Poor little guy was driven to suicide after dealing with the mind-boggling ineptitude of my resort's reception staff.

Our last day at the resort arrived and I was only too happy to leave. Fearing a repeat of our check-in process several of us got up extra early to check out of our rooms; fortunately we all make it out without too many difficulties. We assembled our luggage outside the main entrance to await transportation to the airport, and I saw a dead hummingbird on the ground outside the window. Some people thought it flew into the glass because it saw some flower in the reflection, but I knew the truth: the hummingbird had tried to check into the hotel, and after a few hours of dealing with the registration staff it grew so frustrated that it committed suicide. I've no doubt that's what happened.

Tito came with two vans to take us to the airport – one van for us, the other for our luggage. I didn’t ride in Tito’s van this time, and unfortunately our mustachioed driver didn’t play soca during our short ride to the airport. The rest of the trip was long and tiring but pretty unremarkable, except that a storm was raging in Baltimore when we arrived, and our plane tried to land but had to abort about 100 feet above the runway. We proceeded to Philadelphia to refuel, then finally returned to Baltimore about three hours later than intended. I had planned to go to work the following day, but I was far too exhausted.
