Welcome to paradise! From the distinct lack of oil fields (which are literally everywhere outside of national parkland) to the local music welcoming us on a coastal road with beautiful views of the bays and Islands of the Park Mochima we arrived in the tiny resort of Playa (Beach) Colorada where we were welcomed by the local children, a beautiful beach and a massive hill up which our home for the next 4 nights lay!! After Emma had a rather hairy moment via a hot flush we finally found a lovely posada run by a very hospitable Swiss Lady called Rita  accompianied by her zoo of animals. Seriously Andy felt like Dr Doolite from the old timer the two little gay dogs (Emma´s 2nd favourites) to the 2 cats and our personal favourite ¨Tone¨the tortoise (See photos later on!!)

It is here that Emma really settled and we first felt truly at home with a cokoed breakfast and for the first night we got the room for 5000 bolivias.

.thats arund 1.15p at home due to the small size of the was for one so a tight squeeze but it was fun!!!!

In the morning we met our first fellow travellers, a goup of 6 Swiss travellers. Luckily we got speaking to them and were soon invited to join them on a boat trip to one of the island in the national park ' Araptu´. This was amazing, we got a fisherman t take us in his boat the island and on our way spotted schools of dolphins playing in the bay. They were amazing, jumpng fully out of the water and at one point they surrounded our boat. I must note that we had an extra companion on our trip...a one legged french sailor who was our guide for the day and cooked a mean BBQ of chicken, jacket potatoes and plantane. Before the boat trip out guide also took us to a local mango tree where we picked fresh mango to eat during the day.

.they were amazing!

When we arrived on the island it was deserted, covered in palm trees, golden sand and beautiful calm waters, however we soon had our paradise interrupted by wealthy Venezuelans in sunseekers, it was the weekend and they were seriously out to play...power boating, water skiing etc. We soon realisd why all the coral surrounding the island was in very poor condition, like much of the environment spoilt by an inefficient waste disposal system that swwms to go as far as simply throwing any rubbish absolutly anywhere..bins???who needs them??? Venezuelians apparantly as litter is ruining thier beautiful natural landscape, as has the oil based economy.

It was still very beauitful tho, we will upload photos asap.

Chao for onto a very special day..Emmas big Day!!!!!
