Well we´ve had a bit of a nightmare! After a delayed ferry journey to P.L.Cruz we arrived at 10.30pm with no hotel in a very scary area of town. We quickly found our bible, the Lonely Planet to find suitable accomodation and made our way to the closest. It was literally any parents worst nightmare and mine! We got given a key and told to go to room ocho (8)....the door was literally hanging off it´s hinges and there was no light. Emma quickly turned on her heals and pretty much ran!

So we were in a city at 11pm, with no room, luckily a very kind Venezuelan took pitty on our situation and advised us on where to stay, at the local posh hotel! Still only 40 pounds a night but a nightmare cost for a backpacker! And now to the real problem!! Filing andy after a full dyas travelling!!

YOu may think being on the Caribban coastline with a tropical climate we would have been spoilt with fresh fish..mangos and fresh fruit and all mannor of mederterainian cuisine...but guess what were the only restaurants available in this city....yeas...McDonalds, Subway and wait for it....Dominos Pizza!! After settling into our room with a highly overpriced pizza we setttled into watchng what we believe will prove to be our las flm ¨Back to the Future¨...which is quite appropriate as this place seems to be in a time warp of the early 1980´s!! From the cars to the clothes Ven is giving us an insight into a time before we were born which quite frankly is wicked...the cars are awesome if a little polluting!!! (Andy´s opinion...emma just keeps moainng about the planet!!)

So..back to a local bus to take us far away into the national park and the land of palm trees and coconuts never to return....or so we thought!!!
