Caracas airport was not as busy or un safe as we were expecting, it´s so clean and an impressive terminal. It must be said that the local taxi drivers can seem a little pushy..even just to simply offer their black market ¨cambio¨rates. Unfortunatley we had a few problems with our connecting flight to Margrita, namely that our tour operator booked us on the flights for the 06/07/2007 and not the 10/07/2007. However, Andys superior skills of negotiations and Emmas pretty smile seemed to work wonders with the locals and luckily space was found at no extra cost...imagine this with EasyJet......I think not !!!!! This seemes to b our overlying impression of the Venezuelians, they are kind and hospitable people until it comes to handing over money...but luckily we don´t have much!!!..even if we are seen as being rather fortuanate out here!
Sooooo.. after all of this the connection to Isle da Margarita was also delayed by 2 hours...of which we were not informed which seems to be another trait of the locals..they are so laid back they nearly fall to sleep!! they make the spanish look like Robert on his way to the whisky cabinet!! (comments by Andy!!) and David on the way to the pub!!(comment by Emma) love to both dads!
anyway chao for now
