Back to London for one more day

We said good bye to Paris and took the Eurostar back to London. It was hectic getting to the station on time and we were tired and had not had lunch, but we settled in the train to a nice suprise. Somehow, we booked ourselves in first class on the trip back to London! The seats were cushier and immediately when seated, we were offered champagne, coffee, or drinks. Almost the entire trip back we were served a wonderful lunch from a French restaurant. My favorite was the lentil salad and the potatoes au gratin. I finished my meal with a lovely cup of tea.
Back in London, we ventured over to see the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. We walked across the bridge, but got to the Tower too late for a tour. I just love putting a place I have read about in history in my mind, like the Tower of London! We did a bit of shopping near our hotel at Grovners Square and ate dinner at a tiny Italian place. The restaurant was run by a big-haired, leather-clad Italian mama that ran all over the place making all the customers feel welcome.
We lingered around the neighborhood, seeing the US Embassy and one of Chef Gordon Ramsey's restaurants.
