So my friends, Jon, Kristi and I got some buddy passes to go up to Boston...but sadly Kristi had to back out due to work. So it was just Jon and I on our trek up to Beantown.
We left Monday bright and early in the Morning and got into Boston by 10AM where we got some transportation up to Salem so we could see the land of the witches!!! We took the subway from Logan airport into the city then found that we needed to take a commuter train up to Salem. We get on the train, then 30 minutes later we arrive up to Salem and guess what our first view was? It was a swamp with trash there...we're like, great...what did we get ourselves into. Well, happily it was only that area. The rest of the town was very pretty and cute.
While on the train we saw that there was one hotel and a lot of bed and breakfasts...we decide to walk around til we find a B and B and find a place to stay. Well, we walked quite a while and didn't find anything...finally we found the Hawthorne Hotel...which is the hotel where Parker Bros invented Monopoly...there were a lot of firsts in the state of Mass.
We get settled and we go walk around the city to find some of the museums we saw they had there. We go to the Witch museum and watch some little history thing and then we go on our way to the next museum...well, we found out something in the process. Since it was not May 1st yet...most of the museums 'n at were closed. So we found an old cemetery and saw a stone dated from 1860...and then we found some shops and bought Salem stuff and shot the breeze with the shop owner.
