I am down... :(
July 6, 2007
It was the day we were planning to go to Osaka. I woke up and didn't feel good at all. My head and body ached. My appetite was gone (a bad sign for a big eater like me...). I didn't feel like moving. Oh, great.... I am sick!!! My husband was also complaining that his throat hurts. My son, luckily, is still running around with no problems.
I hate that when I get sick on the road. I usually stay healthy even if everybody else gets sick, so I was so disappointed. The check-out time was 10AM. I popped ibuprofen pills and started moving. We skipped today's sightseeing in Nara and decided to head for Osaka. I wasn't peppy, yet once ibuprofen kicked in, I felt OK (well, sort of...). We took a cab to the station to catch a train to Osaka. Luckily, the train ride only took forty-five minutes or so. Caught another cab to our hotel. As soon as I entered our room, I got into bed and stayed there for the rest of the day. My temperature rose to 102 degree F. Our friend, Yuki, who lives in Osaka, came and helped us out in a major way. She took my son out so that my husband and I could get some sleep in peace(Apparently, Yuki took my son to the Transportation Museum, and he had lots of fun!), and also went out to buy us medications and food. SHE SAVED US!! I felt so lucky to have a friend like her in town!!
It was clear that I wouldn't be able to see Osaka this time since we only had one night here. I was so disappointed. Oh well, at least, my son had a great time... :) I fell asleep at night, hoping the temperature would come down the following morning so we could travel to my hometown... Ah, what a bummer...!
