Me and my friend in Moriani at the beginning of the night!
This was a very short, but fun trip to see my friend in Moriani Plage, just south of Bastia
. I worked there three years ago, with him, for an English holiday company, and he was back there, slaving away! The hotel had completely changed so it was nice to see it again, although I can definitely say that I don't miss working there! We did a very hungover walk to the beautiful waterfall about 45 minutes form the hotel, and unfortunately that was all we really managed to get up to! Other than go out and get hideously drunk and go on the dodgems on the previous night! I didn't have enough money to stay more than one night so I' had to get the train back the following afternoon, which gave me time in Bastia to have a (much-needed) coffee! For Moriani itself, there is little to do, there is a long strip of beach, which is ok, although not particularly clean. There are some bars (our regular was Sunlight, which has also been refurbed since I was there in 2004!), a fantastic pizzeria (U Catagnu) and some little shops. There are two lovely walks - one to the waterfall and one to San Nicolao church, both of which are about an hour long. The waterfall walk is mostly shaded, and the walk to the church is mostly in the sun and uphill, so its best to do it in the morning when the sun isn't too hot!
