I awoke on friday with an incredibly hectic day ahead of me.
I started my day off by heading over to the nursing home.
I visited my great aunts to celebrate Bertie's 95th birthday.
my cousin came with ridiculous birthday hats and petit fours in tow.
we sang happy birthday and played a few games before going our separate ways...

my mother, grandmother and I headed over to Macy's to hunt for new bedding...
we got this elaborate set that made my grandmother feel like a princess...
then we dropped her off at the nursing home and helped pack her up...

crazy people tried to get into the room...
and followed me again,...
and muttered incoherent babble again.

My mom and I came back and started the unbelievably intense night of last minute prep for my grandmother to come home.
dishes.
unpacking.
setting up bedding...

CLEANING THE PANTRY.
oh dear god.
I have a picture of how much expired food I found in the cabinets.
ew sick.
My grandfather had alzheimers before he died and he was totally loopy because of it.
he used to make me so sick from some of the food he cooked.
he put microwavable dinners into the oven with all of the plastic wrap and box dye seeping into it.
I was horribly ill for 3 days when that happened.

this just reminded me of it.

then we cleaned our butts off...0
of course, we had to take down the disgustingly moldy orange 70's drapes first.
then we finally crashed for the night.
