Thursday we chose to use public transportation to get into the city rather than driving. The conductor allowed us to use a family plan which meant that it cost less for the five of us to travel on the train than it had to park the previous day. I recommend using this option to travel into Boston. It was efficient, comfortable, and took away the stress of navigating traffic in a major city.
We wandered through the Burying Ground at King's Chapel, marveled at the dates on some of the gravestones, and felt impressed by some of the important names.
We lunched at the restaurant used to shoot the exterior shot for "Cheers." I never actually watched this show, but the other girls were pretty excited about it.
We returned to Boston Common and Public Garden as well. Several sculptures caught our interest including that of a frog on the edge of a pond and one named "Make Way for Ducklings." (If you have young children, this second sculpture makes for a great picture op.) We also returned to the area near Faneuil Hall and looked at some of the historical sights there. This area provides free entertainment in the form of street performers. This night we watched a man juggle knives while balancing on a high unicycle.
