Ios Island
Okay mostly just photos. We arrived and found a gorgeous little resort-type hotel. We checked out the local town and had a great lunch.... of the traditional Greek meal: Omlette :)
We headed to one of the nicer beaches to find we were lucky enough to be there for the final few days of the main resort (far our bar) being open. Greg had a go on the local water sports and I got to go along for the ride.
We had a meal with some of the girls we had drink in Santorini before planning to meet up with them later to have dinner and see if there was any nightlife left in the Island. Dinner was great and there was a little nightlife. We found a bar or two, which picked up a bit when a Contiki tour arrived at about 1:00 am.
I had a few drinks and found how easy it is to get lost around Ios. It also found quite a few very local bars and lovely local who will spring for drinks - especially in the off-season.
The next day we checked out more shops and then headed back to the beach. Nice weather and worth the walk. Great day on the beach loungers (another advantage of end of season....pick of the loungers). That evening Jac and I went for a walk to the top of the hill to find that church we could spy from our room. It was a great walk there and a....long walk back. Yet again my navigation skills let me down (and sober this time). We ended up in some very dark alleys and roads and ended up having to follow the coast back to the where we got off the ferry to figure out how to get home....we weren't scared!?!
Next day we were heading to Mykinos...
