The white city of Bath
Anyway, we left this part of the country and ended up in Bath, which is a beautiful town that I could quite easily spend a lot more time in. We had no idea where we were staying, and pretty much everywhere we could find was full up, so we drove around poaching people’s WiFi connections so we could try and find somewhere on the internet, and in the end the YMCA came to the rescue! After finding a local pub and getting bangers and mash for dinner, we went and saw Live Free or Die Hard at the local cinema " not really fitting the setting too well I’m afraid...
The following day the weather was much better and we did a walking tour around Bath. Apart from the obvious historical highlights and architectural features (we now know all about the windows of the buildings) we discovered that 1) there is a eucalyptus tree in Bath, 2) that the bloke who invented plasticine lived there and 3) that Johnny Depp possibly owns a house there that he recently bought for around 4 million pounds. But probably not. Oh well, good to know about the plasticine... We also visited the ancient Roman Baths (complete with Victorian era adornments) and sampled the (truly terrible) healing waters. No swimming though (the water was a bit green...). Next, on to Wales!
