George's Boat

In May and June of 2006, about 50 crazy kids from all over the world took Europe by storm. We started out as strangers, and ended up experiencing all (or at least a lot) of what Europe has to offer. This is the story of Contiki's London to Athens tour.

Today was George's Boat.  I had read all about George's Boat on other people's travel journals, so I really had my hopes up. While I had expected more, I still had fun.  It was raining for the first couple of hours, and I really didn't feel like spending a lot of money on watersports in the rain.  I watched several people who all seemed to be having a lot of fun.  For us observers, however, it got old fast.  Supposedly Corfu is supposed to have the least amount of rain anywhere in Greece, but it sure did rain a lot while we were there.

We had lunch on George's boat too.  Bread, ham and cheese, same thing we have had for breakfast since Rome.  Oh well.  At least George made some good french fries to go along with it.  Once it cleared up, some people went swimming, but I still wan't in the mood.  I'd been promising Mike that I'd skinny dip once we got to hanky panky island, and I fulfilled my promise.  Only a few of us went... me, Jamie, Steph, Mike, Aaron, Natalie, Deanna, Dom and Muffin (the contiki rep at the hotel).  We came back to the hotel, had a shower, and had some dinner.  Another night of moussaka... which was pretty good for contiki food.

The night was free, so we just went down to the bar and had a few drinks with Sarah to celebrate her birthday and to say farewell to Corfu.  I went back to my room to pack, then went to sleep.
