Dom and the Evil Bug

Breakfast early this morning, then we were off to see Pisa and Florence. We had a very busy rest stop, but I got some good pasta, chocolate cake, and water for lunch. We were all back on the coach ready to go, when Dom got on looking pale as a ghost. He was having trouble breathing, and his eye looked all puffy. Turns out, he got bitten by a bug on his eye, and he had a bad allergic reaction to it. Luckily, Dr. Al was onboard (Alan took good care of a number of us at one point or another). We had planned on going to the campsite before Pisa, but we ended up going to Pisa, and Baz gave us the "grand tour" while Dom rested on the coach.
We arrived at the campsite and were greeted with some not-so-great lasagna. There wasn't much cheese or meat in it, just a lot of noodles and sauce. You really can't expect much from the contiki campsite dinners though... we'd gotten used to this fact.
After dinner, we headed to the Red Garter for a few drinks. I was having an off night for whatever reason. I thought Jamie and Steph were pissed at me, so I was in a shitty mood. Turns out they thought I was mad at them for some reason, so we got it cleared up and things were fine. The Red Garter was definitely a contiki hot spot. All tourists with some karaoke and dancing. Turns out, most places the tour goes are designed specifically for contiki-- you won't get much of a taste of local night life unless you go exploring on your own. Oh well.
The cabins in Florence were by far the nicest we'd had. There were two sleeping areas, one with two beds, one with three, plus a table and cushioned bench, plus our own bathroom. Somehow I got stuck in the three bedroom on the bed that went between the walls (see photos), and I was way too tall. So I ended up sleeping out in the common room on the cushioned bench (which worked out just as well as it turned out).
