In May and June of 2006, about 50 crazy kids from all over the world took Europe by storm. We started out as strangers, and ended up experiencing all (or at least a lot) of what Europe has to offer. This is the story of Contiki's London to Athens tour.

Almost the end of the road... :(

A little greek town we stopped in on our way from Corfu to Athens.

Woke up this morning to get on a ferry to take us to mainland Greece.  It was a short trip on the boat, which was nice, but then we had a long drive on the bus to get to Athens.  Something must have been bad in the food yesterday, as half of the bus was sick.  They all broke the "no #2 in the bus bathroom" rujle, and it smelled disgusting.  I felt really bad for the bus driver.  At least I didn't get sick, so I was able to enjoy another fantastic cheese pastry for lunch.  Later we checked out the Corinth canal.  It's long and deep, and that's about all there is to say about it.  Not really worth the stop if you ask me.

On the final stretch, we had to name our most favorite memory from the trip.

Natalie, Tracy, Jocelyn, Jamie, Steph and Me at the Athens farewell dinner.
I wrote that it was the night in Paris when Jamie, Steph, Rowan and I all got drunk on wine at dinner and went to the erotica museum.  That night was definitely fun, but my favorite memories included a few wild nights at the Chateau, in Venice, Florence and Corfu.  Those were truly my contiki highlights, but I knew only one other person on the bus would get it, and i didn't feel like explaining anything to anyone.

We had an optional farewell dinner in the Plaka district of Athens... most definitely the best dinner of the entire trip.  We had tons of appetizers, and the chicken souvlaki was great.  It was worth the money we paid.   A lot of people went to the bars to watch the world cup, but I don't care much for soccer, so I decided to call it a night.  The hotel was loud, but I managed to get some sleep before our final day together :(
