In 1996, after years of searching, my dad finally discovered who his real father was. It turned out that he was from the other side of the world in Illinois, USA. A few years later, I spent my life savings to go and meet as many of the hundred or so new relatives I had. In between this, I learned to snowboard at every opportunity. It was an epic journey of adventure and discovery.

My sister Nikki was struggling through a one year stint as an au pair in Boston, Masachusetts.

The family were probably the 2nd biggest bunch of assholes on the planet. Their 3 precocious sons were a real tribute to poor parenting.

I went over to be the nice big brother. Set them all into line and whisk her away for a Christmas in the North Woods with Ed & Pat...

Boston was a very beautiful and nice city although extremely conservative.

It was like going back to the 1920's....

The family were incredible wealthy, though I still cant find any excuse for their extremely ass sucking demeanor.

As an Australian I always find status and hierachy in other countries interesting. We dont have such a thing. Nothing more than your personality counts in Australia.

I recommend anyone who considers to be an au pair to thoroughly research and investigate all aspects before committing.
