My cousin lives in Caleta de Fustes and works at the San Jorge*** Hotel as a receptionist. So she knows the town pretty well. It is nice to walk around and there is everything you could need, apartment hotels up to 5***** hotels like the Sheraton, a shopping center, car rental firms, lots and lots of restaurants and bars to go out. There is a nice beach where you can take a camel ride along.

Everything is within walking distance and the city itself is very central on the eastern coast. By car it's about 10 minutes to the capital, Puerto del Rosario. Up north it takes about an hour to get to Corralejo. Down south to Cofete it takes about 2 hours or more depending on what car you drive (because the streets to Cofete are not really all that nice :)). To the westcoast to Ajuy it takes about an hour or less. The streets are empty and very nice.

In Caleta, which is also often called Castillo by the inhabitants (because there is a castle) we went out for dinner to the Mexican Corner, Faro Rock and another restaurant (I don't remember the name). Concerning bars we went tu Macumba, Havana Bar, Café Nero and Rock Cafe which are all really nice and have their own flair.
