Homework in a Cafe
Well, I partly got my wish. I´m not leaving Spain quite yet. My flight to Amsterdam got cancelled and then all flights to the US are backed up from all the cancellations yesterday because of the weather. So there were NO flights to the US from most European countries. I couldnt even get a flight to Boston or DC...NOTHING...NADA.

So, I´m back in Barcelona staying at a different hostel this time. Last night I stayed at Graffiti Hostel again but it was out of the way and had loud music until 5am because it was a shared dorm style housing. Now I have a room of my own with my own shower in the central part of Barcelona for only about $10 euro more. This way I save money on transportation to the airport tomorrow as well.
Wandering...
Instead of taking the $20 euro cab I will be taking the $4 euro shuttle. Oh man...I am sooo good at traveling on low budgets now.

I also met a 29 year old man last night at the hostel. He had the bed next to mine and we ended talking about life and what we´re doing with our own at the moment. His name was Jason and about two weeks ago he sold his car, his house and most of his belongings so he could travel for six months. He is from London and is doing a Euro trip right now. He said he was doing it to find himself. Its an interesting concept that I dont know if I necessarily agree with...

Here is where I muse for a bit so feel free to stop reading if you dont want to read some of my thoughts or ramblings on travel:

Okay. So after all the traveling I´ve done in different countries and different states.
to the habor.
..which really isn´t a lot compared to some people but then again to others it is a lot. (I realize i have been incredibly lucky and privileged to have had these opportunities...so i´m grateful for that.) But in terms of finding myself in my travels...i know I definitely haven´t ¨found¨ myself...if anything I´ve found more things I´m interested in and more people that inspire me. But I am no more clear on who I am as a person than I was 5 years ago when I first started traveling. I am more clear on what impact I have on the world and how it differs from so many other cultures...its not so much an individual search as it has been an attempt at a global understanding.

You following?

If anything, when I travel it makes love and appreciate home so much more but at the same time makes me love and appreciate traveling EVEN more...maybe because it makes me love home all the more? Ack...who knows. Anyway, Dr. Venuti gave me the quote ¨the more you learn, the less you know¨ back in high shcool. I sort of apply that to traveling now with ¨the more i travel, the less i´ve known/seen.¨

I´m done rambling for today. I blame it on the lack of sleep and early morning airport trauma. Keep your fingers crossed and lets hope my flight tomorrow morning leaves for Amsterdam!!!
