Kerry - After a good nights sleep in our hostel - Posada Del Maple, we re-packed our bags, went to pay fr our flights to the Galapagos Islands, and then in the afternoon headed out to investigate the old part of the city of Quito.

Quito is a busy and noisy city, but also has some lovely old colonial buildings. The main square - La Plaza Grande is pretty impressive with a Catherdral and some shops around the edge of the sqaure. Lots of people were passing the day here by sitting and watching the wrld go by and soe shining also seemed to be a populr profession. Quito is also a very hilly city and we wandered up some of the little streets to get to the Basillica. The views from this Church were great (see below). This church is the highest in Quito.

After this we wandered to the Church of San Fransisco - the patron saint of Quito, and the Cuhrch of La Mercad. These churches were very ornate, with lots of gold decor.

We are off to Otovala tomorrow to sample the Market!!

Now this looks like a quaint old place, one of those 'wish you were here' type of places. Keep the pictures coming, enjoy yourselves. Love Dad.
